Give them an other chance.

Hello to you readers,

You must have been intrigued by today’s post title, wondering “to whom or to what should we give an other chance ?”.

First of all, let me tell you that today’s article is going to talk about museums and exhibitions. Indeed, a lot of people turn their back on what they think as “intellectual, boring” outings. So today I will share to you many reasons that helped me re-think the way I used to, about spending my free time to museums or exhibitions.

For a start, let’s cut the small talk and get on to a major point. Museum ticket prices can make you turn away from the idea of spending time there. However, it should be noticed that a lot of museums are free and if you are under eighteen, your entrance is costless.

Now, let me answer the main question that will determine your choice of going to places such as museums or exhibitions : Why should I go there?                                                                First and foremost, I can assure you that visiting an exhibition or a museum is not boring. But only to the condition that you know your artistic tastes, and that you choose a place to visit that will entertain your mind.

A lot of different activities can be related to museums or exhibitions.

  • You might be a ballet dancer. So what is stoping you from heading to the closest museum that shows the amazing paintings of Edgar Degas, French artist mostly known for his fine artwork representing ballerinas.

  • Or, if you are more into riding bikes, skating or graffitis you can go to street art exhibitions. I personally love the freedom that the street artists put into their art.             IMG_0538.jpg

  • Perhaps you have a very creative spirit, always wondering about everything. Then, you’ll might be interested in contemporary artwork and its fantastic, surreal and creative perspective.

You might not refer yourself to any of these “items” but that’s also a major point of these outings : they may indirectly help you find some interest into artistic values that you weren’t aware of.

What also made me change my mind about exhibitions is that you will always find something new to learn about. Even if it wasn’t your main goal, anything unexpected can come to you, and trust me, it feels really good to learn a little more about life every time you go out.

I am going to add an advice to make sure you spend a good time : take a friend, your lover or a member of your family with you! The time you share there, will make your outings more interesting, funnier and most of all, it will make time flee away.

Last but not least, I have to say that the sensation when you come out of the museum or the exhibition you have just seen, is great. Yes, you feel like you have spent your time into something intellectually interesting and you feel well entertained.

Personally, I have only found some interest in going out to museums or exhibitions very recently. In fact, I used to think that it was a waste of time and energy… But for two years now, I have regularly spend my sunday afternoons at various exhibitions and enjoy that time.

I sincerely hope that this short article helped you change your mind if for a start you weren’t a museum fan.

Until next time,

Paris – Christmas Market 2016

Tuesday, December 20th.

That day, my mom and I had decided to walk down the Champs Elysées, the world’s most beautiful avenue, which hosts a typically Parisian Christmas market until January 8th.

Of course we were quickly swept away by the magic Christmas vibes pouring out of each of the little stalls. The darkness of the night highlighted the glow of the lights decorating each of the trees lining up both sides of the avenue.

Having the mind of a child, it was for me a great opportunity to get out of the house and see the magic of Christmas operate. Apparently I wasn’t the only one to have this idea for an out going that day, indeed I passed by a lot of people strolling at the market who were either families, couples or just friends hanging out.

One of the nicest moment I remember, was when I could hear all the young kids bursting with joy in front of an amazing flying Santa. And how sweat were the faces of an elderly married couple when they came face to face with a state-of-the-art drone hovering over passers-by. And how delightful was it to watch a group of friends sitting around a wooden table while tasting the unmissable “raclette” sandwich.

Seeing all these people laughing, kissing, holding hands together, having fun, sharing and enjoying special treats, warmed my heart. Indeed, I have to admit that finding myself surrounded by so much positive energy, made me smile in the middle of the dynamic crowd. Most of all, it made me realize how much life can be surprisingly delicious.

However, security has been reinforced in the aftermath of a series of terror attacks that struck France and lately a Christmas marketplace in the German capital of Berlin. The market was full of officers walking down the alleys. Being in the middle of a crowd and hearing the repetitive police sirens did scare me. I would watch the cars drive away, making sure that danger went away with it. I also discovered a new system established to stop cars or trucks from driving on the sidewalk : concrete blocks are placed at every end of footpaths. I let you imagine how this wasn’t the christmas decoration I was prepared to face to.

The contrast between the warm welcoming atmosphere and the reality of being exposed to danger did upset my feeling and made me help face reality.

I sincerely hope that all of you are having an amazing time during the christmas holidays, and that you’re enjoying every precious moments with your family, friends or lovers.

Here is the link to the movie I have made out of this little trip :

New Zealand ♡

Hey guys !

Today I am coming back with a new article to share with you my trip to New Zealand!

I was so pleased to go back there because, can you imagine, the last time I’ve been there was 10 years ago! As you mite don’t know, going to New Zealand from Paris takes a looong time. It takes three days and thirty hours on the plane.

So, let me introduce you with the wonderful island of New Zealand…

-Oh and and I have got a new good news (well not really but anyway…) : on the plane going there, I finally watched the “Lord of the Rings” ! And sorry, but I kind of got bored of it… I think that it is not my kind of movie. ^^

At first, you mite want to know that New Zealand is a small country of only 4,500 millions people. This corresponds to nearly two time the people living in Paris!

Let me show you my trip with the little movie I’ve made :

(The link below brings you to my youtube channel were my movie is! )

Enjoy ♡

Besides the fact that New Zealand is the country exactly at the other the side of the world, it’s exotic. The mentality and the culture of people are so different from Paris. In fact, I think it’s different from anywhere else! The landscapes are so beautiful and the water of the ocean is so clear!

When I was all settled in, I talked to my family, visited and… ate hokey pokey! If you don’t know what hokey pokey is, I am going to tell you –> Hokey pokey is a special ice cream flavor. It’s kind of a vanilla creamy taste with little pieces of caramel… so goooood!! I wonder why we don’t have it in Paris ? Why? ^^

This picture bellow shows the cattle of a farmer : my cousin. I know that every country has got farmers, but when you live in a city like Paris, you’re so far from farms and so far to imagine the farmers job and it is really amazing and fascinating !

I said that I haven’t been there since 2005, so 10 years ! but I could only go back this time for two weeks because of my school and gym schedule… But it is better than nothing. And I was so happy to go back!! Were I go when I fly to New Zealand, it’s to a small city called Gisborne. I am talking about this city because, turns out, Gisborne is the easternmost city of the world! That means that when you are there, you have the first sunrise of the world.

Oh! I HAVE to talk about a shop that I discovered in New Zealand! It’s “Factorie”. This brand is sooo cool. I bought a hat there. Yeah, a haaaat and I love it so much ♡ So you MUST go on their site (the link below) and maybe discover cool stuff if you don’t know this brand.

Factorie : ♡

And, I also have to talk about this other shop : “Cotton on”. I don’t know if you have it in your country but in France we don’t… so disappointing… but I got a few t-shirts and the paire of sun glasses you can see in my little movie.

Link to the Cotton on online shop : ♡

So here finishes this article. I hope that you enjoy it and that I’ve made you discover a new, beautiful country 🙂

Kisses, Bonnie

A new start!

Hello !

I am opening this blog to share my feelings and my thoughts with the internet world.

At first, let me tell you some things about me :

My name is Bonnie. Clearly this is the information the most important! Yeah! So… I am a French-New Zealander living in Paris. I practice rhythmic gymnastics and it is one of my passions. I go to a french school witch has got special class schedules. When I say “special” it is because I only have got class in the morning to practice gymnastics the afternoon every day. Anyway… I come from one of the most beautiful island of the world (well I’m sure it is !). I come from New Zealand ! Yeah the place were “The Lord of the Rings” was filmed. In any cases I haven’t seen this movie, but I’ve been to New Zealand. And it is such a beautiful country! Now…I have got other passions than gymnastics, as a lot of girl in the world, I love fashion, makeup and all that kind of stuff! Most of all, I enjoy life!

So this is who I am!

No worries, I won’t be talking about me all the time on this blog! But this is my way to introduce myself.

I haven’t talked about the meaning of the name of the blog but it isn’t very personal or something very interesting…

Thank you for reading!  ( If you did get the time to read this little article haha! )
