Give them an other chance.
Hello to you readers,
You must have been intrigued by today’s post title, wondering “to whom or to what should we give an other chance ?”.
First of all, let me tell you that today’s article is going to talk about museums and exhibitions. Indeed, a lot of people turn their back on what they think as “intellectual, boring” outings. So today I will share to you many reasons that helped me re-think the way I used to, about spending my free time to museums or exhibitions.
For a start, let’s cut the small talk and get on to a major point. Museum ticket prices can make you turn away from the idea of spending time there. However, it should be noticed that a lot of museums are free and if you are under eighteen, your entrance is costless.
Now, let me answer the main question that will determine your choice of going to places such as museums or exhibitions : Why should I go there? First and foremost, I can assure you that visiting an exhibition or a museum is not boring. But only to the condition that you know your artistic tastes, and that you choose a place to visit that will entertain your mind.
A lot of different activities can be related to museums or exhibitions.
- You might be a ballet dancer. So what is stoping you from heading to the closest museum that shows the amazing paintings of Edgar Degas, French artist mostly known for his fine artwork representing ballerinas.
- Or, if you are more into riding bikes, skating or graffitis you can go to street art exhibitions. I personally love the freedom that the street artists put into their art.

You might not refer yourself to any of these “items” but that’s also a major point of these outings : they may indirectly help you find some interest into artistic values that you weren’t aware of.
What also made me change my mind about exhibitions is that you will always find something new to learn about. Even if it wasn’t your main goal, anything unexpected can come to you, and trust me, it feels really good to learn a little more about life every time you go out.
I am going to add an advice to make sure you spend a good time : take a friend, your lover or a member of your family with you! The time you share there, will make your outings more interesting, funnier and most of all, it will make time flee away.
Last but not least, I have to say that the sensation when you come out of the museum or the exhibition you have just seen, is great. Yes, you feel like you have spent your time into something intellectually interesting and you feel well entertained.
Personally, I have only found some interest in going out to museums or exhibitions very recently. In fact, I used to think that it was a waste of time and energy… But for two years now, I have regularly spend my sunday afternoons at various exhibitions and enjoy that time.
I sincerely hope that this short article helped you change your mind if for a start you weren’t a museum fan.
Until next time,
Bonnie.
